Cadet Hoops offers six core program offerings all centralized around our vision plan and mission statement. All services incorporate cultural responsive teachings and have a high emphasis on social awareness initiatives happening within various communities around the country.
Gross & Fine Motor Skill Development
•Designed for children ages 4 years (pre-k) – 12 years old(5th grade).
•Our program is designed to travel onsite at schools and uniquely teach/ engage participants in a collection of basketball themed gross motor and fine motor activities.
•We create a high energy environment, incorporated fun music and utilize age appropriate equipment to increase confidence, social & emotional skills & coordination.
Elite Development Skill Sessions
•Cadet Hoops Elite Development Skill Sessions (EDSS) is an enhanced version of our top instructional basketball program for kids ages 12-17 focused on teaching the fundamentals on a position by position basis.
•All EDSS participants will experience a heavy instructional and repetitive drill-based environment. The Elite Development Skill Sessions are designed to teach kids the specific skill sets associated with each position to become a better basketball player.
•No full court games are associated with the elite skill sessions.
•Acceptance into the Elite Skill Sessions must be approved by the league director.
Youth Development REC League
•Cadet Hoops Youth Development Rec League (YDRL) is an instructional basketball program for kids ages 9-14 which focuses on teaching the core fundamentals of the game in a fun and semi- competitive environment. REC basketball is designed for kids of all skill levels, backgrounds and competitive interest. Teams can have no more than 10 assigned players per team and we incorporate mandatory substitution intervals for the first three quarters of play. Our primary objective is to encourage a healthy and enjoyable experience through basketball.
Core Team Fundamentals
•Cadet Hoops Core Team Fundamental Sessions (CTFS) incorporates within a group setting the core principals assigned to both team defense and team offensive.
•Team Defense: Taking away the lane, high percentage shots, reduce second chance opportunities, eliminate your turnovers, pressuring the ball & discouraging dribble penetration
•Team Offense: Get the appropriate position-based shots, long range shooting (snipers), screening – (shooting over screens & passing to the screener and/or shooter), getting second chance points, getting high percentage shots & controlling the ball
CTFS focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun, competitive and instructional environment. This Program is designed to teach kids the individual and collective group skills they need to be a better teammate on and off the court by the use of drills, station work along with full court games. The class will do drills for approximately 60 minutes and then for the final 30 minutes, we break up the class for full court game situations
Youth Development Skill Sessions
•Cadet Hoops Youth Development Skill Sessions (YDSS) is a top instructional basketball program for kids ages 7-14. YDSS focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun and competitive environment. This Program is designed to teach kids the skills they need to be a better basketball player by the use of drill and station work along with full court games. The class is broken out into four drilling sessions for approximately 60 minutes. Each drilling stations encompasses a different and unique aspect of the overall session theme. After station drills the participates are organized into teams to participate in full court games for the final 30 minutes of the session.
Anti-Bullying awareness
Children are our future and worth investing in to promote a Safe, Caring, Non Hostile Learning Environment where children can mature successfully with dignity and respect. Fear free security. When schools open the door to communicate and cooperate with parents it is a win win for everyone. We are hoping our representatives helping parents through formal meeting process will pave the way for a brighter future ending student drop outs and suicides
