Our Mission

Cadet Hoops Basketball Association – NJ Non-Profit was established in 2016 and is a top instructional basketball program focusing on teaching the core fundamentals of the game in a fun, instructional and semi-competitive environment. All programs utilize basketball as a vehicle to teach school age youths the leadership, socialization and physical skills they need to be a better basketball player on the court by utilizing drill and station work along with full court structured games.

Cadet Hoops Basketball Association aspires to be an outstanding common core aligned educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete. 

 A high-quality experience is one in which every athlete:

  • Is coached using the principles of Positive Coaching

  • Has fun at practices and games

  • Feels like an important part of the team regardless of performance

  • Learns "Life Lessons" that have value beyond the playing field

  • Learns the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improves as a player

 It is our goal to provide every coach with the tools to succeed as a Positive Coach.  We are committed to creating a positive culture, in which coaches, parents, fans, officials and athletes work together to achieve our mission.

Brian Prioleau

Proud father of 3 wonderful children (Shana, Donte, & Ava) and currently resides in Carteret NJ. Born and raised in CT where he played his high school basketball at the St. Joseph’s Prep Academy 
• Four-year varsity member on the basketball team 
• Played in 3 Connecticut state championships and won two 
• High School team ranked in top 25 in the country 
• Connecticut Post top 25 high players in 1995 
• All-State selected & All-tournament team selected 

College: Pace University 
• Four-year starter on the Pace University basketball team 
• Fifth all time in steals, All tournament team selected 
• Ranked 3rd in the country for Division II 
• Graduated with a double major and minor in 4 years 
(Marketing & Management with a minor in Finance) 

AAU and EYBL Teams: 

  • Creator and founder of the SEED USA National Basketball 

  • Team 2015 Las Vegas Fab 48 - 8th Grade Diamond Division 
    Champions & Nike Invitational tournament champions 
    #1 15u team in the nation - 2016 

Travel Basketball: 
Head coach on Back to Back Jersey Basketball Association (JBA) league champions. 
• 2015 7th Grade Champs 
• 2016 8th Grade "A Division" Champs. 

Featured Publication:

  • Reached national recognition and was honored to attend the prestigious Harvard Club for introducing a program that delivered an infusion of educational and gross motor awareness skills through a youth basketball program.  

Basketball Officiating: 

  • New Jersey NJSIAA High School Basketball official. 

  • Selected to officiate the New Jersey State Championship Finals at Rutgers 3 consecutive years in a row.
